French Updates

·         We are almost done the last activities related to the story “Un Jour Bizarre”. Tuesday, March 4, 2014, we have the last French test related to this unit.

The test has 4 sections:

-          Dictée #4

-          Les questions partielles related to the story

-          Le verbe Avoir au present

-          Les adjectifs  possessifs

Spelling vocabulary list:

      1)     Je veux travailler avec mon ami.
2)      Qui a fini son travail ?
3)      Tu peux passer les feuilles.
4)      Le Canada a gagné la médaille d’or de hockey.
5)      Je fais mon projet avec mon  / ma partenaire.
6)      Hier, j’ai fait du ski avec mes amis.
 

·         Next week, we will start our new story “Le Chat Angora”. This story is about a cat, detective Angora, whose mission is to find the most dangerous thief, a very clever mouse.  We will do the same type of activities.

Quran Update

Assalamu Alaikum Dear Parents;

Hamdulillah, this week we have finished memorizing Suret Al-Qalam.

Inshallah, the class will be tested on the whole surah after March break.

Besides, we are incorporating a new Arabic program into the Quraan class, so they can understand the Surah better.

Below are the words we learnt from the Surah. Please help your child review them.

Dear Parents,

Assalamu Alaikum,

Children spend a lot of time on the computer for research purposes and fun. For this reason, starting next week, I will be going to the  computer lab with the class, and we will start computer literacy skills.
 
 I will be giving the students an Internet Savvy Pre-Assessment to see  where they are at in their Internet knowledge. I will keep you updated  with what we covered in class, inshaAllah.

Dear Parents,

Assalamu Alaikum

Please take note that the MS Read-A-Thon has now started. This past week, your child received a kit for the read-a-thon. The kit includes a plastic bag (meant to carry the money raised), a reading minute form, and a pledge sheet. Please take note that the MS-Read-A-Thon concludes on Friday, February 21, 2014. All the funds raised must be returned on Monday, February 24, 2014.
