Science Project                           
(due Jan 6-10)

Assalam Alaikom Dear Students/Parents.

Our unit for Science this term is "Body Works" where we will be looking closely at how our bodies function. We will study the five major systems: digestive, circulatory, respiratory, nervous, and musculoskeletal systems. In an attempt to understand these systems closely, I have assigned this project for the winter break. Students are required to choose one the systems and represent it in an interesting creative way using different kinds of materials varying from simple cardboard and markers to play-dough, clay, wires, wood, light bulbs, cloth,... to name just a few. The options are endless and the limit is your imagination. So dear students, surprise me!!

News From French Class

Assalamu Alaikum Dear Parents
Time is just flying by and we are already in December and the winter break is at our door.
So far we are working on our daily vocabulary, using it in sentences, questions and answers. Al Hamdulillah, students are gaining more confidence in speaking French in class.
We are working on our first story “ Un jour Bizarre” and we are working on reading comprehension and writing activities related to the story.
  •          We did “Choisis le bon mot”, .Les mots en ordre”, « Les phrases coupées ».This latest was an in class formative evaluation.
  •         We are working on “Les questions totales” and "Vrai / Faux"
  •         We will start "Les questions partielles”

·         On Wednesday ,December 11,  we are having the 3rd French test : spelling, Les questions totales,  les mots en ordre.
·         The spelling list for Wednesday is:
1.       bon, bonne
2.       correct(e), corrige,  une faute
3.       Les vêtements, l’hiver 
4.       Un pantaloon d'hiver
5.       Un manteau d'hiver
6.       Les bottes d'hiver
7.       Une tuque, une écharpe
8.       Des gants, des mitaines
9.       Je mets mes vêtements d’hiver pour jouer dans la neige avec mes amis/amies.
  •        « Les questions totales » and « Les mots en ordre » are related to the story and students are familiar with both activities as we are working on them each period.
